The century old tannery prepares this leather article by applying a hot wax, then turning the hides in old wooden tanning drums overnight to soften the natural fibers and impart it with a remarkable suppleness. The leather is then upholstered in its "crust form" on the furniture in Hickory, NC, After the furniture is made our leather artisans apply a multi step hand rubbed Patina using the same waxes and pigments used in Italy. Performing this process on the actual finished piece allows our artisans to develop a unique Patina, composition, and overall essence that creates a piece of furniture that has uniqueness, character and style that matches the individual who's selecting it.
